One Month of Walking. Hundreds of Children with More Opportunities.
What started as a community walking challenge has become a way to support education for children in rural Romania. As a Walking Month 2026 partner, We As Web joined an initiative bringing people and businesses together for a cause worth moving for.
A few extra steps each day might not seem like much. But when an entire community gets involved, those steps can help create opportunities for people who need them.
That’s the idea behind Walking Month, a community initiative that brings together individuals, teams, and businesses around movement and social impact.
In 2026, We As Web joined Walking Month as a partner, supporting an edition dedicated to improving access to education for children from rural communities.
Walking for a cause that goes beyond the challenge
This year’s Walking Month initiative supports Asociația Educalise and its mission to create more learning opportunities for children who might otherwise have limited access to them.
The project aims to provide 250 hours of practical workshops for 500 children from rural communities, introducing them to hands-on learning experiences, new skills, and opportunities to explore their interests.
It’s an ambitious goal, and one that gives every registration a purpose beyond the walking challenge itself.
For We As Web, supporting an initiative that invests in education and brings the local community together was a natural fit.
Bringing Cluj together, one event at a time
The 2026 edition officially kicked off at The Office in Cluj-Napoca, where participants, organizers, and partners gathered to launch the challenge.
Organized by Betfair Romania Development, the event brought together local businesses, community representatives, and supporters of the initiative.
The launch included activities, conversations about the cause, and a basketball challenge featuring Karel Guzman from U-BT. Representatives of Asociația Educalise also shared the educational mission behind this year’s edition.
Our We As Web team was there to join the activities, meet participants, and help spread the word.
We even brought a little technology humor along with us. Our team T-shirts read: “Walking, ’cos teleporting is still in beta.”
Until someone figures out teleportation, we’ll happily keep walking.
The activities continued during Zilele Clujului, when Walking Month became part of the celebrations across the city.
From the activities in Central Park to conversations with people stopping by throughout the weekend, it was another opportunity to see how an initiative like this can bring different parts of the community together.

The value of getting involved
Walking Month has spent years encouraging people and organizations to turn an everyday activity into something that benefits others.
Its strength comes from the collective effort behind it: the organizers who make it happen, the businesses that support it, the volunteers who contribute their time, and the participants who take on the challenge.
We’re glad We As Web could contribute to the 2026 edition alongside Betfair Romania Development, Asociația Educalise, and the other organizations involved.
And while the walking challenge brings people together for a month, the educational opportunities it aims to create can have a much longer-lasting impact.

That’s a reason worth getting moving for.
